Concept: 

3 Decades of Norrdans 30 is a three-part dance film series created to commemorate the 30-year anniversary of Norrdans (1995–2025). 

Each film weaves together footage from past and present productions, performances, and rehearsals—spanning three decades of artistic evolution within the company. Using montage as the core technique, the films do not follow a chronological narrative, but instead connect moments through movement, gesture, locomotion, facial expression, stage setting, prop, lighting, color, location, and speed. These formal elements act as anchors for visual continuity and emotional resonance, highlighting the recurring themes and aesthetic shifts within the company's work.  

By creating intuitive, poetic, and sometimes unexpected visual juxtapositions, 3 Decades of Norrdans 30 reflects on the history of the company as part of a larger dialogue with contemporary dance. The work is not only a celebration of Norrdans’ legacy, but also a meditation on transformation, collectivity, and the ongoing experimentation that defines the company's identity. The result is a cinematic archive in motion—a visual essay that honors the bodies, visions, and stories that have passed through Norrdans across generations.
