Concept:
A Queer Reimagining: The Ballad of Mulan is my way of letting Mulan move again — through somatic improvisation, mystical language, and the very visible act of being documented. The camera doesn’t hide; it becomes part of the performance. The audience doesn’t sit safely; they become part of the negotiation.
Here, Mulan is not a national icon or a Disney daughter. She’s a queer ancestor who slips between forms, genders, and timelines — and I let her reappear through my own contradictions.
